Hideaway Studios

Nestled along the Mississippi River in Northeast Minneapolis, The Hideaway Studios is one of the Twin Cities’ premier recording studios. Founded in 2004 by engineer Joe Mabbott, it has become a creative home for a diverse range of local, national, and international artists. From hip hop to punk rock to traditional Irish folk, the studio has hosted hundreds of sessions across a wide spectrum of genres, offering a comfortable yet professional environment.

The space

The studio features multiple tracking rooms and two control rooms, all equipped with high-end gear and acoustic treatment. Its layout allows for a wide range of recording scenarios — from solo sessions to full band live tracking. The facility combines technical flexibility with an inviting atmosphere, making it suitable for both quick sessions and full-length productions. Its riverside location adds a sense of calm and isolation ideal for deep creative work.

Studio Rules

Respect the gear and team. Bookings are expected to start/end on time unless previously arranged. Be collaborative and professional.

Cancellation Policy

Canceling a booking at least 14 calendar days before the recording date will incur no cost to the client. After this period, contact us and we’ll try to help you.
