Lightship 95 Studios

Once a beacon in treacherous seas, Lightship 95 is now securely moored on the River Thames and converted into a first-class London recording studio complex hosting three studio spaces: our flagship tracking studio, the mix room in the bow and the writing room in the tower.

Studio 1 features a surprisingly large 10m x 5m live room with spacious vocal booth, and a huge air-conditioned control room that benefits from natural light and extensive acoustic treatment built deep into the steel hull. The live room is extremely versatile, capable of accommodating anything from larger jazz ensembles through delicate string sessions to thunderously heavy rock and metal.

The control room of Studio 1 features 64 channels of I/O to Pro Tools, ATC SCM45a Pro Monitors, Calrec S2 48 channel console, Otari MTR 90 2” tape machine and a selection of classic outboard providing ample tracking options for any recording session. Our unique collection of vintage instruments is always available at no extra cost.

Studio 2 is our mixing and mastering suite, with ATC SCM25a Monitors, a Genelec sub and classic outboard from Manley and Amek. Studio 3, set in the base of the old light tower is a serene writing room with river views. Designed for producers and composers, it features a plug and play setup for quick creative work. 13 solar panels on the roof make the ship a sustainable choice for your next recording project.

The space

Lightship 95 is moored at Trinity Buoy Wharf, a creative hub on the river Thames, opposite the O2.
