Umbrella Sound Studio

Umbrella Sound Studio is one of Melbourne’s premier recording and post-production facilities, built by hand with care and precision by its own founders. Specializing in music production, mixing, mastering, live recording, and post-production for film and advertising, the studio offers a creative environment equipped to handle everything from full-band tracking to Dolby-standard audio mixing. The space combines high-end acoustic treatment, a friendly and experienced in-house team, and the flexibility to tailor services to each project — from indie artists to global clients like Google, Microsoft, and Amazon.

The space

Umbrella Sound Studio is divided into a large control room and live room, both identical in size and capable of hosting full bands and groups. The control room seats up to 8 comfortably (14 standing) and features Trinnov sound correction for a pristine mixing environment. The live room is suitable for full ensemble tracking. A massive communal lounge area hosts events up to 100 people and features a bar, pool table, ping pong, projector, and PA system. The entire studio was built using the room-within-a-room method, ensuring acoustic isolation and silence throughout.

Studio Rules

Half-day and full-day bookings only. Engineer/producer included in all sessions. Respect the studio space and fellow collaborators. Events must be arranged in advance.

Cancellation Policy

CANCELLATIONS: Canceling a booking at least 14 calendar days before the recording date will incur no cost. Contact us for rescheduling options.
